The event will take place at Collège Saint-Etienne – free access and no entrance fee.

Regarding Go, it will include an international tournament, inititation sessions, a tournament for young people as well as various comments about the games.

A festival of various Asian games will also be proposed on Saturday.

Asian games festival and initiation, Saturday 3pm – 6pm :

Shogi

Japanese chess will be introduce by Fabien Osmont, President of the French Shogi Federation and the Shogi Club of Colmar, member of Shogi Association of Alsace.

Xiang qi

Chinese chess will be introduce by Marc-Antoine Nguyen, international Xiang qi referee (Paris Club). Fabien Osmont and Marc-Antoine Nguyen are authors at Praxeo Editions (bookselling and signing on site).

Mah Jong

The Mah-Jong games will be presented by the “Maison des Jeux de Strasbourg“, which proposes Mah Jong tournaments every Monday evening.

Carom

Two Indian pool tables are available for the participants to play.

Go

Participants will be explained the simplified rules and able to play on smaller boards. Flash animation and video will explain the simplified rule fur use.

If you are interested, you may also find the rules on the internet – the server mostly used being KGS.

Initiation to Go will also be proposed on Sunday, 3pm – 4pm.

 

Youth Go Tournament

This tournament will take place on Saturday, 3pm – 5pm, on simplified boards, needing only 10-15 minutes for a game.

International Go Tournament

Open to any player from amateur to national champions. Each participant will play 4 games – 2 hours per game, and the title and cup will be disputed among the 16 best players. The final round starts Sunday May 30 at 2pm. The audience may assist to the game and listen to the comments.
